The German Biotechnology Days 2021 (DBT) will take place on 20 and 21 September at Messe Stuttgart. The two-day program is now available online and registration is open. We are looking forward to a speech by the Federal Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, as well as a greeting from the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann. The topics of the event range from the use of biotechnology for health, nutrition and climate to the bioeconomy. In addition, experts will discuss the financing of the industry and Germany as a location for innovation. The presentation of the BioRegions Innovation Award will also be part of the program.
Despite the still uncertain pandemic situation, we are planning a face-to-face event in view of the current positive development. Of course, in compliance with applicable hygiene and distance rules. Details on our hygiene concept, the Corona test centre on the trade fair ground and other organisational details can be found on the event website. If the infection situation does not allow a face-to-face event, we will instead offer the DBT purely digitally.
The DBT is the two-day class reunion of the German biotechnology industry. Every year, more than 800 participants from science and research, industry, politics, administration and the media come together for this event. The planning of the conference for 2021 has been adapted to the applicable rules of infection protection.
Since 2010, the biotechnology industry association BIO Deutschland has been organizing the DBT together with the working group of the German BioRegions at different locations. In 2021 in Stuttgart, BioRegio STERN will be your regional host, partner region is BioLago from the four-country region of Lake Constance.
